Forza Horizon 6 has taken us to some incredible landscapes in Japan, and with it comes a brand-new lineup of hidden vehicles to track down. If you are working your way through the "Discover Japan" campaign, one car you absolutely cannot afford to miss is the legendary 1998 Nissan R390 (GT1).

This mid-engined supercar is a flagship collector piece in the game, famous for its history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its ability to pull massive numbers on the straightaways. Finding it takes a bit of work, but it is entirely free if you know the steps.

Here is exactly how to trigger the rumor, where to find the barn, and what to expect once you get it back to the festival.

How to Unlock the Nissan R390 Rumor
You cannot just drive out to the woods and grab this car right away. Like all Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 6, the location is locked behind your campaign progression. You have to trigger the official rumor first.

Hit the Level Requirement: You need to reach Level 6: Adventurer in the main campaign.

Earn Your Purple Stamp: Keep grinding out campaign points by finishing races, completing story missions, or running food deliveries. Once you stack up enough points, you will be awarded the Purple Stamp.

Watch the Map: As soon as that Purple Stamp unlocks, a large purple search zone will pop up on your world map, signaling that the rumor is live and the car is waiting to be found.

The Barn Location: Step-by-Step
The R390 is tucked away in the mountainous terrain of the Ohtani region, which sits in the southwest corner of the map, just outside the main metropolis of Tokyo City.

If you want to save yourself some time driving in circles inside the purple circle, use the local PR stunts as your guide:

Look for the Bridge Underpasses Trailblazer gate on your map. This is your best landmark.

Head directly to the starting line of that Trailblazer event.

Instead of blasting through the gate, look immediately to the left (just behind the starting area). You will see an unmarked dirt path heading up into the woods and hills.

Follow this dirt path all the way up the hill. The old, secluded barn structure is hidden right at the top of the path, tucked cleanly away from the main roads.

Drive close enough to trigger the cutscene, and the car is yours.

Restoration and Stock Statistics
Once you finish the cutscene, the R390 will be sent away for a full restoration. The game will give you the option to spend hard-earned credits to fast-track the process, but do not waste your money. Just go back to racing, knock out a few festival events, and the car will eventually finish restoring completely for free. You will get a phone call from the festival when it is ready to hit the tarmac.

When it finally arrives in your garage, the stock 1998 Nissan R390 (GT1) comes with these baseline performance metrics:

Speed: 7.1

Handling: 6.6

Acceleration: 6.2

Braking: 6.6

Launch: 3.1

Offroad: 3.9

It is an incredible platform for high-speed builds, and because it is a mid-engine setup, it feels incredibly stable once you start throwing performance tunes at it. Take it down the mountain passes or open it up on the highways—it is easily one of the most rewarding Barn Finds in the entire game.
